After making the strategic decision to delay our launch and dedicate this winter to rigorous testing and prototyping, I’m more confident than ever in the performance and reliability of Gecko Crampons. This extra time has allowed us to refine the design, ensuring it delivers the best experience possible in real mountain conditions.
This Spring, our focus is shifting to field testing and marketing content, capturing the essence of how Gecko Crampons perform in the backcountry. Plus, we’re thrilled to be collaborating with top athletes and mountain professionals to push the product even further!
And now, for the big news…
Introducing the Gecko Crampons Testing Program in Bishop, CA! (ski version only, universal demo to come later)
March 22 - April 30th
At Gecko Gear, we know that the best way to truly understand the power of our ultralight ski crampons is to put them to the test in real mountain conditions. That’s why we’re launching the Gecko Crampons Demo Program, giving you the chance to experience our innovative design firsthand before making a purchase.
How It Works

Shoot me an email - Send to forrest+demo@geckogear.co please include the following information:
- Date that you want to use the crampons (subject to my schedule)
- Where you are going! I'm stoked to hear about your mission! -
Pick them up - Sign our waiver, and then I can meet you in Bishop, California, where there is incredible access to world class ski terrain right out our backdoor!

Put Them to the Test – Take them into the mountains for a real-world trial, whether it’s for a backcountry ski tour, an alpine mission, or a fast-and-light summit push.

Return them after your mission -
-Fill out our testing questionnaire
-Send us any photos you took!
Conditions:
At this time we can only offer a demo of the ski boot, automatic crampon compatible version of the gecko crampons, because the universal crampon attachment system is still in development. Keep an eye out for the universal demo later this spring/summer.
The program is limited by my schedule as well as supply of prototypes. We have a limited number of prototypes, so if other people are using them that day then unfortunately I cannot guarantee a pair that day. Demo days will be on a first come first serve basis. I will require an ID as well as a credit card on file. In the event that the crampons are not returned a charge of 300$ will be applied to the card. (prototypes are expensive!)
By participating in the program you agree to release gecko gear and Forrest Pailes of all liability relating to the usage of these crampons and you acknowledge that ski touring is inherently dangerous, and Forrest and gecko gear are not responsible for any injuries or death relating to the usage of these crampons.
